Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 1, 2026
Introduction
On World Tech LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Just Walk mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Just Walk is designed to keep your data on your device, not on our servers.
Information We Collect
Health & Fitness Data (via Apple HealthKit)
Just Walk accesses Apple HealthKit to read and write the following health data:
- Step Count — To display your daily steps and track progress toward your goal
- Walking + Running Distance — To show distance walked
- Heart Rate — For the Fat Burn Zone feature (requires Apple Watch)
- Workout Data — To record your guided walks as workouts in Apple Health
Important: This health data is:
- Stored locally on your device only
- Never uploaded to our servers
- Never shared with third parties
- Never used for advertising or marketing
- Never sold to anyone
You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Just Walk.
Purchase Information
If you subscribe to Just Walk Pro, your payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not have access to your payment details, credit card number, or Apple ID.
Data We Do NOT Collect
Just Walk does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Location data (GPS is used locally during walks but never uploaded)
- Photos, contacts, or other personal files
- Device identifiers for tracking purposes
- Analytics or usage data sent to external servers
How We Use Your Information
The health data accessed through HealthKit is used solely to:
- Display your step count and walking progress
- Show your daily goal progress and streak
- Provide real-time heart rate feedback during Fat Burn Zone walks
- Record completed walks as workouts in Apple Health
We do not use your health data for any other purpose.
AI-Powered Features
Just Walk offers an optional AI-powered food logging feature in the Fuel tab that helps you estimate nutritional information for the foods you eat.
How It Works
When you use the AI food logging feature, the text you enter describing your meals is sent to a third-party AI service (Google Gemini) for processing. The AI analyzes your description and returns estimated nutritional values (calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat).
What Information Is Processed
When you use AI food logging, the following is sent to Google's servers:
- The text you type or speak describing your food (e.g., "a turkey and avocado sandwich")
What Is NOT Sent to AI Services
The following information is never sent to AI services:
- Your name, email address, or Apple ID
- Your step count, walking history, or fitness data
- Your calorie goals or body measurements
- Your location data
- Your device identifiers
- Any other personal information stored in the app
Data Retention
We do not store your food descriptions on our servers. The text is sent directly from your device to the AI service, the nutritional estimate is returned, and the original description is not retained by us. The nutritional estimates you choose to save are stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud account (if iCloud sync is enabled).
Your Choice
The AI food logging feature is entirely optional. You can always use manual entry to log your food without any data being sent to AI services. You can also choose not to use the Fuel feature at all—the core step tracking functionality does not use any AI processing.
Data Storage & Security
Your health and fitness data remains on your device and within Apple's secure HealthKit framework. We do not operate servers that store your personal health information.
App preferences (such as your step goal and shield count) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms.
Third-Party Services
Apple HealthKit: Just Walk integrates with Apple HealthKit to read and write health data. Apple's privacy policy governs how HealthKit data is protected on your device.
Apple App Store: Purchases are processed by Apple. See Apple's privacy policy for information about how purchase data is handled.
Google Gemini (AI Features): The optional AI food logging feature uses Google's Gemini API to process food descriptions. Only the text you enter is sent to Google—no personal information, health data, or device identifiers are included. Google processes AI requests according to their Privacy Policy and Cloud Terms of Service.
We do not integrate with any advertising networks, analytics services, or other third-party data collectors.
Children's Privacy
Just Walk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address the situation.
Your Rights
Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it:
- Access: View your data anytime in the app or Apple Health
- Deletion: Delete the app to remove all locally stored app data
- Revoke Access: Disable HealthKit permissions in Settings at any time
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
