Frequently Asked Questions

How does Just Walk count my steps?

Just Walk reads your step data from Apple Health, which counts steps using your iPhone's motion sensors (or Apple Watch if you have one). If your steps are showing as 0, make sure you've granted Just Walk permission to access Apple Health: Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Just Walk → enable all permissions. Then reopen the app.

What are Shields?

Shields protect your streak on days when life gets in the way. If you don't reach your goal, a Shield is automatically used to keep your streak alive. Free users start with 2 shields. Pro users get 4 shields per month and can bank up to 8.

What happens if I miss a day?

If you have a Shield available, it's automatically used to protect your streak — no action needed. If you're out of Shields, your streak resets. But don't worry, that's just a chance to start fresh. Pro users can bank up to 8 Shields for those extra-busy weeks.

Why can't I start Fat Burn Zone?

Fat Burn Zone needs your Apple Watch to monitor your heart rate in real-time. Make sure your Apple Watch is paired and the Just Walk watch app is installed. No watch? You can still use Intervals and Post-Meal walks.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Just Walk → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Just Walk, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchase". Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.

Is my health data private?

Completely. Your health data stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers. We can't see your steps, your walks, or anything else. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I change my daily goal?

Of course. Go to Settings in the app and tap on your step goal to adjust it. We'd suggest starting with a goal you can reach most days — you can always increase it as walking becomes more natural.
